Wall is homosexual. He is a former Deputy Chief of Staff to Senator Rick Santorum. In addition to this, he is an adjunct professor of American Studies at Temple University. ("Bullies")

Sutton is interviewed by Will McAvoy on the News Night program. Will goes after Sutton aggressively over Senator Santorum's public anti-homosexuality. Sutton supports the Senator's pro-life stance and insists that he would make a good president. Will forces the issue about Sutton's homosexuality. Sutton breaks under great anger and counters that he is trying to reduce the man to one dimension, prompting great remorse in Will. Nevertheless, he asks if Santorum considers Sutton fit to teach children and Wall is forced to admit that he does not. After the interview, Will expresses great remorse for having embarassed and bullied Sutton on television, saying "he has students...". ("Bullies")
