News Night with Will McAvoy is the fifth episode of the second season, and the fifteenth episode of the series overall. The teleplay was adapted by Executive Producer Aaron Sorkin. This episode first aired on August 11, 2013; the events of this episode jump ahead a few months from episode 4, and take place on the night of March 16, 2012.

Summary[]
Sloan falls into a state of depression after lewd photos that her ex-boyfriend snapped are plastered over the internet, jeopardizing her reputation. Don attempts to help Sloan. Mac refuses to let a gay Rutgers student attempt to come out on national TV. Will is distracted by a phone call from his father, it is later revealed that Will's father dies from a severe heart attack. Jim and Maggie chat over a George Zimmerman downloading. Shep Pressman, a press liaison from the Office of Naval Intelligence talks with Charlie regarding Genoa.
