Biography[]

Guidry campaigned on a promise of fiscal responsibility. He won a seat representing his district in the 112th Congress. He appeared on the News Night program on election night. When asked by anchor Will McAvoy how he would vote regarding raising the debt ceiling he responded that he would not vote in favor of any unnecessary spending. Resident economist Sloan Sabbith tried to explain to his that raising the debt ceiling meant increasing the amount that the USA would repay on its existing debt rather than increasing its borrowing but Guidry could not hear her over the celebrations of his supporters. Will tried to ask him if he understood the consequences of the USA defaulting on its loan repayments but Guidry again said that he could not hear them. ("The 112th Congress")
